Stuck On Names

It’s a tough life when you have a difficult to spell or pronounce name.  Just ask a Niamh (said Neve) or a Xander (said Zander) or me!!!  I am sure I spent most of my childhood wishing for an easy to spell and popular name like Sarah, Melissa, Jennifer or maybe Stacey from the babysitters club.  I spent many a shopping trip in the 80′s scouring the gift shop racks for a key ring/mini numberplate/mug with my name on it.  IT NEVER HAPPENED.

Luckily for my children their slighty unusual names have not left them wanting for personalised products.  They have everything form labels, height charts, books and bags!  Stuck On You has the hugest variety of personalised products and I love that you can view a sample of the finished product before clicking the order button!  The latest in the “My Pigeon Pair” collection….

 Lunch Pack $49.95

Of course I had to go with the cute little birds!  Poor Little miss A has been wanting something like her big brother who has the same set but in the robot design for school.

I now make her daily lunch and snacks when I make Master O’s school lunch.

Whilst we are out and about, or just at home, she can play schools and choose food from her lunch box!  It is saving me time throughout the day and money whilst we are at the shops as I am not forking out for expensive snacks!  I have also used the lunch box when we went on a recent excursion to hold a little colouring in book, pencils, wipes, tissues etc for her!  Her very own cute, personalised bag!

What’s even better……we are giving one of the Lunch Value Packs away!!!!

For your chance to win a personalised Lunch Box and Drink Bottle, enter away and tell me….do you love your name?  What did you wish it was??

I have always loved my name ‘Anna’. The fact you can spell it backwards has always made it cool!

  2. MEl says:

I dont mind my name – Melissa- although there were about 5 of them at my school. We’ve gone down the unique name with my son so he will never be able to get shop bought personalised items. This would be great for him! Thanks

  3. Amie Codlin says:

I love my name, but always wished I could get personalised things when I was little but never did due to my unusual spelling of Amie.

  4. Jacqui says:

My name is tricky to spell too, but I don’t mind it- Jacqueline.

  5. Michelle says:

My name is Michelle and whilst I love my name Mum always said she chose ‘Shelly’ but didn’t feel it was right to abbreviate my name???? My 7 nieces and nephews call me Aunty Shell and that suit me just fine!!

  6. I’m a Jacqueline too. I always get people spelling it with a c and a k.

  7. Janet Warren says:

I’m usually the only person with my name in whatever workplace I’m in (or when I was at school) but a lot of people always pronounce it as Jeanette!!

I don’t really like my name Julia, Because people always refer to me as Julie, and I’m constantly correcting them! Its my pet hate, and I’d rather be a “Jasmine”

  9. Caroline Kelly says:

I would have prefered that my first name was Emily. With my current first name, it is often abbreviated, spelled incorrectly, or pronounced incorrectly.

Emily is easier to spell and pronounce.

  10. Shana L says:

I didn’t like my name when I was younger, always pronounced wrong and could never get anything personalised. Don’t mind it now that I’m a bit older.

  15. Dannielle says:

My name is Dannielle, and as it is unusually spelt (with double ‘n’) I could never get anything personalised! I do like my name, although when I was a kid, I wanted to be called Dannii (like Minogue!) haha

  16. jenny l says:

My dad insisted on me being named Jennifer but I’ve always preferred being called Jenny or Jen….it’s only on “official” paperwork Jennifer is used.

  17. Marnie says:

I’ve always liked my name (Marnie). Mum loved how Sean Connerry used to say it (from the movie Marnie) so, that’s how I got it. I usually get called Marty or Mardie….hmmm, I suppose it’s better than “hey you”
    x Marnie

  22. Crystal B says:

I don’t mind my name and never wanted to be named anything else. In recent years I now have to correct people as they seem to think ‘K’ is the first letter not ‘C’. I never had that problem growing up.

I like the name ‘Angelica’ in the hope I would have been more angelic-like in nature ;)

  30. Larabelle says:

As a child, I wanted a ‘normal’ name…Rose was the one I imagined…but as an adult, I love my relatively uncommon name, and the Dr Zhivage story behind it!

  31. Rebecca Bird says:

I’ve always thought my name was too common, most people call me Bec though, which I quite like! I’m so used to being called Bec now, that sometimes it takes me a minute to realise people are talking to me when they call me Rebecca!

  32. Michelle Gray says:

I don’t hate my name, but I also don’t love it, it’s just a bit boring. That’s the reason we picked names a little bit different (but not really out there) for our girls, Nikala and Annika :)

  35. Cathy B says:

I love my name, Catherine Mary Anne, as the middle child I felt a little left out as a kid, then Mum told me I was special because I had two middle names where as my siblings only had one. I then went on to think, not only do I have two middle names but I have the longest name too, pretty special. Funny thing is when it came to my own kids, I picked long names and two middle names and none of them shorten their names.

  36. Rebecca says:
