Labelmaker Love

I have horrible handwriting.  As a teacher it is assumed you learn these things during your university study.  So guess what happens when you spend too much time drinking coffee in the caferteria and stalking shoe sales.  You end up with shocking pencil grip, less than perfect letter formation and nowhere near legible handwriting.  Let that be alesson to you all!

Unfortunately messy handwriting and an addiction to organising and labelling things do not go well together. Enter my DYMO LetraTag Labelmaker.  This little beauty has been going strong for 2 years now.  She has been used to label EVERYTHING in this house!  Be gone messy handwritten labels!

I think the more obvious question is what do I not use my label maker for??

I have even used the DYMO Iron On Tape to label socks, shirts and underwear (make sure you do this before your child goes to school swimming lessons, it will save lots of embarrassment when underwear is found on the floor as it can be discretely returned to the owner!!)

So Why Label?

Storage solutions are great for organising but to establish EFFECTIVE ORGANISING SYSTEMS items MUST BE LABELLED!  A labelled item is more likely to find its way back to its rightful place and quickly!

Why a LetraTag?

Dymo LetraTag

To be honest I originally bought a LetraTag because it was cheap and the refillable label cartridges were readily available where I shop (Supermarket, Big W)

Upon purchasing and using it I loved it for many more reasons!

  • Large graphical display enables you to see text effects on screen before you print
  • Print 5 font sizes, 7 texts styles, 195 symbols and 8 box styles
  • 9-label memory
  • Date stamping
  • Auto-power off
  • Easy to use navigation buttons for fast access to special features
  • Prints 1 or 2 lines per label (12mm width)
  • Prints on paper, plastic, metallic and iron on LetraTag labels
  • Uses 4 AA batteries (not included) or optional AC adapter (not included)
  • Available in tabletop format (my original model), and other colours
Put simple it is quick and easy to use, affordable to purchase and can handle any labelling job!

Because I love my LetraTag so much I would love for someone in the “My Pigeon Pair” flock to have one too!  Simply enter the giveaway below sharing with us….

  1. I wish I had labelled my pens at work… They always seem to go missing (customers walk off with them) when you hand it over for people to sign for paying on credit… and yes some people still like to sign the old fashioned way!

My Tupperware pantry stuff because my hubby is always mixing up what flour is what , even the castor sugar and salt one day because the old labels fell off yrs ago .

  3. Lise says:

I wish I had labelled BOTH of my 5 year old’s gloves, not just one…of course the one without the label got lost at school :)

  4. Norlin says:

For me, it’s…my kids! So the teachers at school won’t confuse my girls names just because they’ve taught the older one previously. :s

What do you wish you had of labelled??
I wish I had labelled all of my photo disks! I have a box full of photo disks and to find out what they are I have to put them in the computer to find what I am looking for. Having a label would make this so much neater and easier :-)

Oh so many things i would love a labeller for..recipies, plastic containers in the shed. I currently pinch labels whilst at work!

On our walk to the shop today, our Cheeky Charlie decided to fling his brand new gorgeous hat over the side of the pram. With much backtracking and asking shop assistants if they have seen it, I realised we would have more luck reuniting with it if I had have taken a moment to label it with name and phone number. I too spent too much time drinking coffee in the cafeteria at uni and suffer from bad handwriting as a result ;-)

I am currently in organising mode since having a new study built. I have a heap of new folders laying around just waiting to be dyno’d. As my eldest is about to start school there are so many things that need to labelled…oh my a new play toy for me would be fantastic right now!

I wish I had labelled all my CD’s and DVD backups! I seriously have over 500 that I need to go through and sort! Not a task I’m looking forward to!

  12. Susan says:

My plastic bowls so I know which one goes with which lid!!

  13. I wish I could label everything my husband touches so it might go back in the right spot!

  14. Tracey Brown says:

Okay I would label my kids, you know when you are trying to find the right name for the kid who did something wrong and you end up going through all their names and saying “you know who I mean”, then they laugh and it kind of looses its effect!

  15. elise wright says:

All my DVD’s. I got really lazy when I burnt my discs and never labelled any of them.
