Breathing Space is….

On the weekend, I felt like I needed space.  I needed to escape the mundane.  The routine of everyday life.  The depressing pile of washing, the unmade beds, the toys scattered from here to eternity.  So we just left.  Sometimes it really is just that simple.  We got dressed left the coffee mugs in the sink and made no plans.

and this is what happens when you make no plans.

You discover a new park literally minutes away.  Your children explore the shady paths, trickling stream and scurry through the gardens, and Mummy sits.  Just sits watching on, as I warm my back in the sun.  Letting them choose their own explorations.  Biting my toungue every time I feel the urge to tell them what is dangerous or to put their hats back on.

Because sometimes, just sometimes life needs no routines, no plans and no rules.  But just time to breathe, to be, to unlock all of the new adventures, waiting to be discovered.

    That’s beautiful!!

My Mister is at home with the kids on Mondays and they always discover new parks and cool shopping centres because they just meander through their day, whereas when I have a day off I try and pack eleventy billion things into my day and zip from A to B in the most efficient way.

  7. So awesome, for everyone.
