By now you will know that I have a little problem called “SCO” or
Storage Container Obsession.
If it is a basket, tin, bucket, container I want it, I need it,
I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!
In our playroom I had a few neglected baskets that were being used to hold educational items. This was an area I really wanted to fix during our latest Playroom Project.
There it is second from the bottom! Well it also counts as Open labeled storage! These baskets contain workbooks, games, flashcards, reference books etc. I need them to be
- away from little hands
- sturdy baskets to hold bulky items
- baskets that aren’t too high so I can easily see what is in them
- four identical baskets (just to look pretty!)
They are right up the back on the top shelf of the Expedit unit! Can you see them amongst the mess! But look …the kids are playing in the playroom!
So out everything came! At the top of the picture you can see I found these great sturdy, perfect size, plastic baskets at “The Reject Shop” for $4 each!!!- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Flashcards and Activity Cards
- Games
And here they are!!!! They are working perfectly AND I found things I had forgotten I had!!! Soon I will share with you exactly what is in each of these baskets! Related posts:

Townsville needs an Ikea… I covet an Expedit…. I too, have a mild case of SCO… they are everywhere in my house!
I am obsessed with containers too, sometimes buying them without thinking about what’s going to go in them. I have many an unused container in my house. I love how the kids playroom is coming together!
I want an Edpedit system as well, though right now I’m lusting after that bookcase. Although I would never fit their books in it, it’s so cute.
Haha..love that term “SCO”! Umm, I do sort of have a slight “SCO” but, I always get fed up when the kids and husband doesn’t adhere to them in the end. :S
I totally have SCO.
I believe for every problem, there is a storage solution.
living in a hotel hasn’t stopped me. I bought lots of plastic containers. Mainly for food, but also for pencils and stuff… some of them aren’t even being used, but I had to have them. The lids were pretty colours.
I can’t wait to get home and get a new house and then find solutions to all the inevitable storage problems
love your playroom too!
